is the oldest National Park and nature reserve of Crete. If you are not able to hike through the National Park of Crete Samaria Gorge for health reasons (for those who cannot walk downhill for a long period of time or have knee issues), you can go by ferry from the coastal Village Paleochora to the village "Agia Roumeli". This car free village is only accessible by ferry and it is the exit (bottom) of the Samaria Gorge. From Agia Roumeli it is only a short walk of 1 hour through the famous most narrow place (The Iron Gate) of the Samaria Gorge. We call this tour the Lazy-Tour Samaria.

You will be inspired from the exotic natural landscape of the cedar forest and the bays with golden sand and turquois water. Some of the trees are over 300 years old.
While swimming in the crystal-clear water you will smell the Cedar wood. The distinguishing features of the island are many shells.
