Avlemonas, a small picturesque fishing village on the east coast of Kithira. The architectural style with the typical white houses and blue windows is reminiscent of the Cyclades islands. There are several plateaus with entry aids for swimming. A Venetian fortress can be seen at the entrance to the harbor. This fortress also bears the coat of arms of Venice, the lion of St. Marcus. (Here the ship "Mentor" of Lord Elgin capsized, who wanted to ship marble friezes from the Parthenon temple.) There are some taverns in the village.
