Current information for your journey to Crete/Greece :

Travel information from the Foreign Office:
Entry into Greece by sea, air and land is only possible with a certificate of a negative PCR test from a recognized test laboratory from the country of departure in English, stating your name, address and passport / ID card number. The sampling must not be older than 72 hours. In addition, a free COVID-19 rapid test will be carried out on arrival in individual cases.

Anyone entering Greece by February 8, 2021 must go into a seven-day home quarantine. Online registration also applies to all entries by sea, air and land. Travelers must fill out an online form (“Passenger Locator Form”, PLF) at least 24 hours before their departure to Greece. This PLF is also required for people residing in Greece when leaving Greece. Every traveler, including children, must be listed in the PLF. According to the Greek authorities, members of a household should fill out a PLF and state adults and children in it. After registration, travelers receive a confirmation with a QR code, which is automatically sent by email on the day of entry at the latest. If no code can be presented upon entry, a fine of 500 euros is possible. The QR code must be shown at check-in / boarding. The form must be completed on the Internet at https://travel.gov.gr/#/ or via the Visit Greece mobile app, which is available in the Play Store and the App Store. (And one more important note: first you have to register yourself and wait for the confirmation e-mail. Confirm the link with a click and then start the login with the e-mail address and password you previously assigned. Only then you will get to the actual form! ) Any technical problems that may arise when registering using the “Passenger Locator Form” can only be reported directly with the Greek authorities. A service number was switched on 0030 215 5605151 (Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.).

Travel connections
There is direct air traffic between Europe and Greece, the actual implementation of flight connections depends on the decision of the respective airline. Flights within Greece are only allowed for work, health or family reasons or to return to the main residence.

Restrictions in the country
The Greek government has extended the nationwide “lockdown” until February 1, 2021. Supermarkets and shops that are necessary for basic supplies, e.g. pharmacies, bakeries, butchers, weekly markets and petrol stations are open. Retail stores are allowed to open subject to strict capacity restrictions.
