Since the famous film musical Abba "Mama Mia" with Meryl Streep, the small islet has been famous with its dream beaches. You can get there by ferry from Skiathos or from the main land Pelion ( Volos). The islet has maintained a refreshing authenticity. Skopelos is a holiday destination for unspoilt island life quiet beaches, walks through green and mountainous inland, far away from all.

A special highlight is the rock by Agios Giannis, where the popular musical film "Mamma Mia" by Abba was filmed with Meryl Streep. The climb was a bit difficult for us, we wondered for an entire film crew with equipment?

An hour-long ferry ride follows getting from Skiathos to Skopelos. It is no mean feat getting to skopelos the only way to get there by air is via neighbouring island Skiathos. The area of Glossa is rich in springs olive trees, plum trees and almond trees dominate the landscape.
The architecture of Skopelos is influenced by the Macedonians. Two-storey houses with tile roofs and wooden balconies. Glossa seems to have existed since the minoan era as traces of pre-historic housing were discovered. In many parts of the town there are ancient towers.
