Our Story

Crete Travel was founded in 1989 in Düsseldorf – originally as a traditional travel agency with a clear focus: holidays on Crete. From the very beginning, our goal was to share the beauty and diversity of the island with our guests. What started in a small office, promoting our family-owned hotel in Kolymbari, soon developed into a specialized tour operator for Western Crete – with our own charter flights (LTU) and lovingly designed travel catalogues. With the rise of digital media, new opportunities emerged: our passion for Crete could now reach people all over the German-speaking world. Thus, the travel agency of the early days evolved into a modern online platform – www.kreta.com – yet the essence has always remained the same: personal advice, tailor-made journeys, and genuine enthusiasm for Crete.

Our Philosophy

For more than 30 years, we have been advising and looking after our guests personally – with heart, experience, and dedication. Several times a year, we travel to the island ourselves to discover new hotels, villas, and apartments that fit our customers’ expectations. Our long-standing partners on site – hoteliers, hosts, and guides – have over the years become close friends.
