The small sea side village Kalives is located in western Crete, 21 km eastwards from the old town of Chania-City, in Souda Bay. There are some taverns in the village square and in the narrow river bank streets. The long sandy beach was always a magnet for town dwellers with Chania only about 20 km away. Kalives is a cozy little coastal town with a green hinterland and a small sandy bay. The trademark of Kalives are the white lime-washed houses.
