Paleochora is a small seaside town in the Chania region and one of the most important summer resorts in the area. It is located about 72 km from the city of Chania and is known for its mild, pleasant climate.
Picturesque streets invite you to enjoy leisurely walks, along with the Venetian Fortezza fortress, the seaside promenade, the cycling path and the beautiful beaches with crystal-clear waters, offering a wide range of water sports activities.
In the narrow streets you will discover traditional tavernas serving authentic Cretan cuisine and freshly caught fish.
Popular excursions include the ancient site of Lissos, the Samaria Gorge and numerous churches with Byzantine icons. Several hiking routes also run through the area, including the European long-distance trails E4 and E1.
