1.the small archaeological site of Niros Villa. A 4000 years old mansion dating to the late Minoan Times that was used as the residence of a senior Minoan priest. The excavation in the villa have revealed several large bronze axes which were the symbols of the Minoans.
2.Archaeological cave of Eileithyia, 5,5 km from Kokkini Hani
Caves have been the first sites of religious worship during the Minoan times in Crete but the cave was used since the Neolithic years all the way to the Geometric period.The cave Eileithyia is located at the Koprana, 9 km from Heraklion and 1 km from Amnissos.
According to P. Faure, two distinct goddesses were worshiped in the cave; one was a figure of a mother and the other a figure of a daughter. The women visiting the place were mothers-to-be and were using the water that was being naturally collected in the cave in small ponds. Statuettes, lanterns and other offerings were laid in underground caches.
